Mediterranean food is everywhere these days, and it’s made its way to Newbury Street this past February with the opening of Gre.Co! It’s a cute little counter service Greek eatery with plates, gyros, and other snacks. The menu has the option for pork, lamb, or chicken in either a pita, plate, or salad.
Alyssa tried the Classic Lamb Gyro, which came with lamb, tomato jam, tomato, onion, and fries wrapped in a pita. “I really enjoyed the tomato sauce,” Alyssa explained. “I thought the lamb was super tasty and savory.”
I went with the Classic Lamb Plate with tzatziki sauce and zucchini chips. It came with pita, as well as some tomatoes and onions. The portion size was fairly decent, but the quality of the plate didn’t blow me out of the water. The lamb was a bit dry, and they gave me way more tzatziki sauce than I needed.
Like I mentioned above, it’s a really cute place with very nice management, but food quality still has some ways to go before it becomes a Boston staple.
